Roaming charges in Chile depend on the home operator, not the Chilean network name shown on the phone. Travellers may face a daily pass, regional bundle or pay-per-use pricing.
A small background transfer can activate a pass. Calls, voicemail and SMS may be billed separately from data.
NoveSIM Chile plans are data-only and do not include a Chilean number, ordinary calls or carrier SMS.
Quick answer: Check whether Chile is explicitly included in the home plan and what starts a charge. When an eSIM supplies data, disable roaming and automatic data switching on the primary SIM.

Stop Unwanted Home-Line Use

- Enable Data Roaming only on the travel line.
- Disable automatic data switching.
- Check voicemail and incoming-call prices.
Where Coverage Changes
Chile’s long geography means urban reception cannot predict every mountain, desert or southern route. An eSIM controls how service is installed; it cannot create coverage in remote terrain.

Final Recommendation
Compare the complete home-roaming cost with prepaid Chile data. Configure each SIM deliberately, keep call charges separate and prepare offline for remote parts of the itinerary.
